Bluntly Reviews (2): Glasgow's cafes and coffee shops (West End)
This is the second coffee shops and cafes review in Glasgow. You can find the first part of my bluntly review here. I had been in Glasgow for almost a year and I found out that Glasgow is one charming city to live in. I fall in love with the friendliness of Scottish people and their unique accent :P I never thought that I would miss the time I was in Glasgow.
I usually go out alone and find somewhere quiet to take a break from my busy life. I find that I prefer to go to the West End of Glasgow because it is more peaceful during the day. Which is the starting point of my cafes and coffee shops hunting habit :)
This cafe is my all time favourite cafe in Glasgow. I love the atmosphere, cafe decorations, and ranges of earthly foods. They've got homemade bread, freshly baked goods, and seasonal food menu in-store. The cafe special menu changes daily, you might have to visit and check at the black chalkboard for it. The cafe open all day from Monday to Sunday. They serve great breakfast including sourdough toast with toppings, homemade granola paired with fresh berries and natural yogurt, and waffles or hot cakes. There is a special menu up for lunch and evening including warm homemade soup and salads. If anyone prefer a lighter option, they have home baked tarts and cakes with coffee and tea. There is no reservation provided, so I would recommended to visit the cafe during weekdays afternoon because it will be less crowded. My most favourites are homemade cakes and daily platter with a cup of coffee <3.

The Cran is one of the coziest coffee shop in the West End. The cafe sitting area is quite limited but you can enjoy the feel-like-home decorations during your visit. They serve freshly brew artisan coffee, single leaf tea, and juices. There are few choices of healthy salads, artisan foods, and locally made baked goods. Vegan food, curries and soups, and sandwiches are available.

Roots, fruits, and flowers is a small deli grocery, the cafe provides small numbers of seats for sit-in comfort organic food with a vibrant atmosphere. They offer full breakfast ranges with veggie and vegan options, acai berry bowl, classic filled ciabatta and etc. There are deli platter, Thai salmon fish cakes, Spanish tortilla, and more for lunch and take away. I usually go to Kelvinbridge branch because it have more stock than the Argyle Street branch (Currently no seating).

Cottonrake bakery offers fantastic French patisseries such as tarts and croissants, and British home baked goods. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are served with fresh cakes, tarts ,and other savories options. However, the seating capacity is very limited so you might have to gamble for available space upon your arrival! (Highly recommend: Dark chocolate tart and Lemon meringue tart.)

Seb&Mili is a wee cafe in the West End. They have ranges of freshly baked breads and cakes by Artisan bakers. The also serve great food in the cafe. Great new for donut lovers, Seb&Mili is one the eight great places to grab freshly made donuts according to GlasgowLive. Don't worry if you are in the City Centre, there is another brach on St. Vincent street which opens on weekdays from 7.30am until 4pm and closed on weekends.

Artisan Roast is one great coffee speciality place in the West End. They serve great coffee from coffee beans roasted in Edinburgh roastery. You can choose your own way to get your coffee brewed. Artisan Roast coffee beans can be bought online at Artisan Roast website.
